I haven't really been posting here as much as I'd like due to my half-assed attempt at Keto this year. I don't know what's going on, but I'm having a heck of a time getting myself into a deep state of ketosis! The good news is, I'm still losing weight!
I think what I'm doing right now is more of a paleo diet. I'm positive the nuts are keeping me out of ketosis. Still, I've managed to average about 4 pounds lost per week! I'm good with that, I enjoy my diet, I'm not starving, but I know I should be getting much better results.
With that said, I'm breaking a 36 hour fast tonight at dinner. My current weight as of my Monday weigh-in is 250 pounds! Just 50 to go! I'm hoping to be in the 240s by next week.
It's my father's birthday and the family is celebrating this Sunday. I'm going to do a weigh-in Sunday morning and see if I'm in ketosis. If the keto strip turns up negative or trace amounts of ketones, I'm going to cheat for his birthday dinner. If by some miracle I am in ketosis, I'll eat and drink strictly keto friendly food because I've had a heck of a time getting back into ketosis!
Regardless, after his birthday I need to get a little more hardcore on this. Although my goal is to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year, I'd really like it lost by June or July. It would be really nice to be just under 200 pounds by the time summer starts!
So that's where I'm at.. Happy with my half-assed results but a little disgusted with myself because I know I can do better!
